Coupons are a powerful tool for driving sales and rewarding customers. This section provides a detailed guide on creating, editing, and managing coupons, along with strategies for maximizing their effectiveness.

Creating Coupons

  1. Access Coupon Management:
    • Log In to Admin Dashboard:
      • Sign in to your admin area.
    • Navigate to Coupons:
      • Go to the “Coupons” section under the promotions or marketing tab.
  2. Add a New Coupon:
    • Create Coupon:
      • Click on “Add New Coupon” or similar.
    • Enter Coupon Details:
      • Coupon Code: Define a unique code that customers will use, such as “SUMMER20” or “WELCOME10.”
      • Description: Provide a brief description of the coupon’s purpose or terms.
    • Set Discount Type:
      • Percentage Discount: Offer a percentage off the total order, e.g., 20% off.
      • Fixed Cart Discount: Provide a fixed amount off the total order, e.g., $10 off.
      • Fixed Product Discount: Discount a specific product by a fixed amount, e.g., $5 off a single item.
    • Define Discount Amount:
      • Percentage Discount Example: 15%.
      • Fixed Cart Discount Example: $10.
      • Fixed Product Discount Example: $5.
  3. Configure Coupon Usage Restrictions:
    • Minimum and Maximum Spend:
      • Set minimum and/or maximum spend limits required to use the coupon.
      • Example: Minimum spend of $50 or maximum spend of $200.
    • Usage Limits:
      • Limit the number of times the coupon can be used by each customer or in total.
      • Example: Limit of one use per customer or 100 total uses.
    • Product or Category Restrictions:
      • Restrict the coupon to specific products or categories.
      • Example: Valid only on “Electronics” or “Sale Items.”
  4. Set Coupon Expiry Date:
    • Define Expiration:
      • Choose the start and end dates for the coupon’s validity.
      • Example: Valid from July 1 to July 31.
  5. Save Coupon:
    • Apply Changes:
      • Click “Save” or “Publish” to create the coupon and make it available for use.

Editing Coupons

  1. Select a Coupon to Edit:
    • Access Existing Coupons:
      • Go to the list of active or inactive coupons in the coupon management section.
    • Choose a Coupon:
      • Click on the coupon you wish to edit.
  2. Modify Coupon Details:
    • Update Coupon Code:
      • Change the code if needed, though this will affect any existing uses.
    • Revise Discount Type and Amount:
      • Adjust the discount type and amount as required.
    • Alter Usage Restrictions:
      • Modify minimum/maximum spend, usage limits, or restrictions on products/categories.
  3. Save Changes:
    • Update Coupon:
      • Click “Save” or “Update” to apply the changes to the coupon.

Deleting Coupons

  1. Access Coupon List:
    • Navigate to Coupons:
      • Go to the list of all coupons.
  2. Select Coupon to Delete:
    • Choose Coupon:
      • Click on the coupon you wish to remove.
  3. Delete Coupon:
    • Remove Coupon:
      • Click “Delete” or “Trash” and confirm the deletion to permanently remove the coupon.
